A play from a screenshot

1) Show the Zoom screenshot below, either as a virtual background or as a shared screen. Now tell everyone that will be working in small groups and they should prepare a screenshot like this one where each person is doing something different. The screen shot should show a range of different emotions, activities and/or objects. Put everyone into breakout groups of 2-6, depending on the total group size.

2) When everyone's prepared their screenshots, they should send it in the chat to one member of the next group (for example group 1 should send theirs to group 2, group 2 to 3 etc, and the last group should send theirs to group 1) Each group's new task is to try to replicate as closely as they can the screenshot they've been given with their own bodies.

3) Ask them if they can see any possible stories in the situation implied by the screenshot they've been given. Can they create a short sketch or play where everything represented in their new screenshot becomes part of the sketch or play?

 4) Each group performs what they've come up with to the whole class. Invite comments and discussion from everyone.
